The latest on Haley Knutsen, her condition and the latest status of getting her liver transplant. This message was forwarded to me by my friend, Haley's elementary school music teacher, and is a message from Haley's dad, Chris:
"We are back in Tucson and Haley was placed in the Buzz Light Year room. She hasn't been in this room before; it is nice change from the Lilo and Stitch room. Her doctors came in within minutes of her arrival to evaluate her. They are talking with the GI people and liver doctors here to determine the next course of action. We are all exhausted from our seven day trip to San Diego and are glad to be back closer to home and our family. I woke up with Jayce laying on my head hugging me for four minutes. He and Kylene love and miss Mom, Dad, and Haley. I guess the hardest part of this journey is the waiting and uncertainty of what will happen next. I just keep thinking about a night a few months ago when doctors were harvesting Jayce's cells prior to transplant. After the last harvest, Jayce and I were laying in bed in the motor home ready to go to sleep. Jayce reached over, grabbed my face and said, "I go to sleep now and wake up in the morning and save Haley."
Her transplant was the following morning. I was floored and to this day we cling to Jayce's prediction and believe that Haley will prevail. We all long to see Haley playing with her friends in the greenbelt behind our house looking for lady bugs."
