Over at InsureBlog, the Professor describes an older couple who were not only laid off but were getting given the run-around by their former employer.
In a two part story, the Prof mixes honey and vinegar to get their situation worked out.
You know, I've never gone through an agent...either a stand-alone one like the Prof, or an online one like my sponsor eHealthInsurance.com, but after reading both the Prof's recent story, and my friend the Expat's story, it seems like it's crazy to do some of this stuff on your own.
You know how the stereotype is that some auto mechanics and car dealers will mess with women because they figure they're clueless? I know perfectly capable women who will bring a man along, just to avoid having to deal with that.
But it sounds like when it comes to health insurance men and women are in the same boat!
Again I'm not talking about actual knowledge, where your results may vary, but in perceived knowledge.
Since we already know that I'm the Health Care Idiot-Savant-without-the-Savant part...how well do you think you know your health care choices?
