Robyn Shelton from the Orlando Sentinel Health Check Blog points us to a study that shows that men are pigs!
OK, not really. But they do wash their hands after going to the bathroom a lot less frequently than women.
While I admit I don't do everything on the recommended list of bathroom hand-washing procedures (20 seconds? I don't think so...and turning off the faucet with paper towel? Never even occurred to me) I do wash my hands...with soap.
And when I'm in a public bathroom I definitely notice if someone leaves without washing. I even notice if I'm in the stall, and I hear someone leave a stall and just go straight out the door.
And note to those people: I think you're gross!! I think it every time I see it happen. And it happens a lot.
Once I was at a conference and on my way into the bathroom I ran into and introduced myself to a prominent woman. we both went in, and I think we were the only two in there. And yes, I heard her leave her stall and go straight out the door.
I won't be thinking of her quite the same way ever again!!
And no, I will never, never tell you who that was!
