I believe in giving credit where credit is due. And I also believe in passing along opportunities to do smart things for our health at no cost. So, in that spirit I'm passing along yet another free health care screening opportunity, in honor of February being American Heart Month.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 17th and Saturday, February 24th, because Wal-Mart (on the 17th) and Sam’s Club (on the 24th) locations nationwide will host the 4th annual Healthy Heart Community Event.
The offered services will include complimentary cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, samples of heart-healthy products, and educational information on heart disease.
In an interesting caveat, driven, I'm sure by some state legislation that probably made sense at the time, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club locations in NY, NJ, CA, PA, MD, TN, and NV will not offer cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, but will still host Healthy Heart events, including the samples of heart-healthy products and educational information on heart disease.
Bummer for people, like me, in those states. Isn't is the health screening aspect that is the most compelling aspect of this event?
for those of you in the other 43 states, more details and specifics can be found here.

I am happy to see wal-mart supporting this!
